Here’s How You Can Stop A Cold Before It Even Shows Up

Colds are not fun. They are draining and can render you unable to leave your room for days. Worst of all, they share almost all the symptoms of the novel deadly viral infection so there’s a high chance that you might start considering getting tested. Since the pandemic, public restaurants, clubs, and other outing areas have restricted the entrance of people showing any symptoms related to the virus.

A regular cold only lasts a week but that means you’ll be off work and sulking at home for an entire 7 days. That’s not fun when you could’ve used the time to go to a place you’ve been planning on going to. If only there was a way to stop the cold before it comes, right? Well believe it or not, there are quite a few ways you can do so. Stick around to find out how.
1. Get Yourself a Humidifier
This small investment can save you from what could be a pretty bad cold. Dr. Amber Tully, a family physician at Cleveland Clinic, sets the record straight by stating that humidifiers allow the mucous membrane to stay moist so that it can catch all the germs.

2. Increase Your Vitamin D Intake
Studies have revealed that people who do not have enough Vitamin D in their diets are more prone to developing an upper respiratory infection which leads to persistent cough, sore throat, and even sneezing. The sunshine vitamin can be obtained through – you guessed it – sunlight.

3. Washing Hands
A viral infection can be transmitted if you come into contact with a person suffering from it. Once the germs are on your hand or in the air you breathe, it won’t be long till you catch a cold yourself. Your best bet would be to continue using a face mask for your protection and keep up with your personal hygiene.
Final Note
Besides all of this, the smartest and simplest tip you can follow is getting a flu shot. Before the season starts, you can simply head over to your nearest clinic or hospital and receive your immunity dose. It might hurt a bit but then you wouldn’t have to deal with the cold. Sounds like a great deal to us!
Winter is coming so you might as well get ready for it!
