Tips and Tricks to Cope With Pandemic Fatigue Through Self-love
It’s 2021 and there’s hardly a soul in the world who isn’t insanely stressed by the ongoing pandemic. We’re about one and a half years into the situation, with more than 200,000 deaths and counting in the U.S. Global healthcare workers are also totally worn out by now, and yet, sadly there are high chances of a third wave hitting us. To top it off, we’re at the verge of stepping into the flu season. Seems like humanity still has a long battle to fight.
Considering the above bombardment of grim information, if your brain has already switched into panic mode, don’t worry, you’re not alone. These days, thinking about all that’s wrong with the world is giving everyone a mental strain, a scenario that mental health experts have termed as crisis fatigue.

Keeping this in mind, investing in a good self-care regime is extremely important at this time, not only for your mental well-being but also for your social health. So, how can you show yourself some love in these stressful and confusing times? Well, here’s the answer!
Prioritize your work and home boundaries
Although, in many countries, the restrictions regarding the pandemic have been lifted (partially), yet some countries are still quite serious about the situation and continue to press work from home orders to establish safety among their staff and families.
The work-from-home arrangement is great – you get to spend more time with your family, flexible hours, and the comfort of home; what else could you want, right? But with all that gold and glitter there are some drawbacks.
No doubt you get to work from the comfort of your home, but the boundaries between work and personal life get blurred out. This in turn leads to even more stressful situations and negatively impacted productivity. Therefore, it’s important to set clear boundaries between work and personal life. If possible, try and allocate a specific room or workstation and a specific time-schedule for your WFH.

A wholesome good night sleep
This can’t be emphasized enough! Today’s generation is extremely expressive. Whether it comes to excitement or nervousness, optimistic or pessimistic mindset, they all feel it very intensely. Therefore, creating a perfect balance between both moods is quintessential.
Good sleep helps in achieving a state of balance that helps you keep sane during confusing times. An uninterrupted 7-8 hours of slumber can help you get rid of mood swings, fatigue, restlessness, and lack of concentration. Your body can function better and your mind can allow you to come up with more interesting and creative ideas.

Final thoughts
What’s the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear the term “self-love”? A picture of tree-hugging hippies or cheesily unrealistic self-help books? Well, that isn’t the self-love we’re talking about. Compassion and self-love open doors for many unexpected opportunities.
They don’t only keep you at bay from anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts, they bloom new confidence and a sense of accomplishment in life. So, if you haven’t tried the concept of self-love, start working on it at this very moment!
